Kurt Lauber

Snow sports instructor, UIAGM mountain guide, rescue specialist, helicopter pilot, Swiss mountain guide trainer, Kurt is also the keeper of the famous Hörnli hut and has climbed “his” Matterhorn more than 350 times.

Kurt has been heliskiing and climbing in the Alps, the Andes, Africa, Alaska, Canada, Greenland, the Himalayas, Norway and the USA. He has prepared his most experienced customers to climb famous walls such as El Capitan Half Dome in the Yosemite, Ama Dablam in Nepal, and the Alpamayo in the Andes.

As a rescue professional, he has been involved in more than one thousand operations over the past 20 years. His various skills together with the depth of his mountaineering and rescue experience bring to the ARF, knowledge, balance, and thoughtfulness in rescue training education.

Kurt is married, has one son and lives in Zermatt.
